Retrofitting particulate filters

Danish vans
Please contact a car workshop if you want to retrofit your vehicle with a particulate filter. When the filter is mounted, it must be registered by a vehicle inspection facility. At the vehicle inspection facility the filter is tested and the inspection facility takes care of registering the filter in the Danish motor register (DMR).

For Danish lorries and busses only: Before the declaration from the filter supplier is presented at the vehicle inspection facility, the declaration must be emailed to the Danish Environmental Protection Agency at miljozoner@mst.dk. The Danish Environmental Protection Agency will then assign an identification number, which the owner or user must affix to the declaration.

Non-Danish vehicles
Drivers of non-Danish vehicles that are first registered before the date limit are required to register their vehicle, along with the appropriate documentation of retrofitted particulate filter or euronorm to enter a low emission zone. If you fail to register your vehicle, along with the appropriate documentation, you will be charged a penalty of DKK 1.000.

You must register your vehicle no later than the day you enter the low emission zone.
