Older diesel-powered cars are allowed to drive in the low-emission zones now. However, they may be subject to low-emission zone requirements in the future.

The level of the penalty charge

For lorries and buses the penalty charge for driving illegally in af low emission zone is DKK 12,500. For vans the penalty charge is DKK 1,500. 

The Danish Environment Protection Agency is responsible for enforcing the low-emission zones
